Another brilliant and moving film from Denmark's Susanne Bier was the Opening Night offering at the Sonoma Valley Film Festival, as her earlier and haunting "Brothers" had been in 2005. It's one of those marvelous stories where nothing is as it appears to be! MadsMikkelsen, most recently the villain in "Casino Royale", is a good guy here who reluctantly leaves his work at an orphanage in Bombay to return to his native Copenhagen to receive a multi-million dollar check from a rich benefactor, and gets far more than he expects!
BTW, these films are shown more than once, so if you like the mini-review here, check out when else the film will be showing this weekend!
