All day February 4 I was part of a group of 16 that took a hands-on and full-taste wine seminar called Wine Basics 101. This was a "first" for the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance who sponsored this excellent experience. You'll see some photos of me and the group here at Moon Mountain where we toured the fields, vats and caves, and did some barrel sampling of their excellent wines before wine tasting in their lovely tower. After the morning hours there, you can see us at The Lodge at Sonoma where we were treated to a "two hour Sensory Exploratorium" conducted by sommelier and wine educator Christopher Sawyer and a magnificent three course and eight wine luncheon feast presented by Carneros Bistro & Wine Bar's chef Janine Falvo! I learned a great deal about quality wines, their production, and wine pairings at this event, as well as meeting some other fine Sonomans! Look forward to more of these events as the seasons turn!
